Dubsea Psychiatry Services

In Person and Telehealth Appointments Available

My preference is to meet with folks in person, but I understand the convenience and increased accessibility that telehealth offers. Please note that there are some diagnoses/medications which may warrant in person visits.

Initial Screening

If you are interested in psychiatric medication management, please schedule a free 15 minute phone call with me to see if I may be a good fit. At the end of this call if this seems like a good next step, we can schedule your initial evaluation. Please note that there are some mental health conditions that require more support and resources than are available in a private practice setting.  I am not able to provide disability evaluations, autism evaluations or court mandated treatment at this time.

Evaluation & Diagnosis

Our evaluation appointment is divided into two 60 minute appointments, and will include reviewing your mental health history, current symptoms, potential diagnoses and treatment goals. Sometimes tests including labs may be required in order to identify any contributing factors to your mental health.

Medication Management

After evaluation and diagnosis, medication management follow-up appointments are usually between 15 and 30 minutes, and include a review of how your mental health has been since our last appointment, how you have responded to the medication, and if you are experiencing any side effects.

At the beginning of treatment, we may meet more frequently while adjusting medication. Everyone responds differently to medications, and sometimes it takes some fine-tuning to find what works best for you.

Primary care providers are an important part of your treatment team, and I am able to help you with finding the right primary care provider if you have not already established primary care. Psychotherapy is also a central part of recovery, and for most mental health conditions, therapy plus medication is more effective than medication alone. I am connected to several communities of therapists in the area, and I am happy to assist you in therapy referrals.

ADHD Evaluations

Because of the developmental and complex nature of ADHD, these evaluations are more intensive and will involve multiple appointments including a structured interview and possible collateral information from other care providers, educators and family members.

ADHD evaluations are offered only after our initial evaluation appointment.
